Hi! I'm Marja Huhta, artist and owner of Glass Elements.
I started my journey in glass by creating jewelry and immediately became addicted to the medium.
I have worked in Maryland, Washington DC and now Seattle, maintaining my own studio. I enjoy running my business, Glass Elements, selling fused glass jewelry and housewares on etsy.com as well as in local juried art shows. But my favorite part of working in this medium is helping people find their joy in glass.
Each piece, whether a small jewelry item or large platter, is hand-made in my Seattle studio. It is designed, hand-cut, and layered before being placed in a kiln and fired to approximately 1500 degrees, then properly annealed (cooled) for strength and durability. The beauty of each unique piece is revealed by further shaping, polishing and additional firing. I take immense pride in using proper kiln techniques, compatible glass, and tested methods to realize a well-crafted piece of art.
I'm also a proud member of EtsyRain, the Seattle area street team. Go Seattle! :)
