After decades in techie careers that I loved, an unlikely event turned me in another direction altogether- the arts. My newly discovered ability to visualize & then manipulate combinations of shapes, colors, & materials to create original jewelry involves brain cells I didn't know I had. This surprising passion started with beading, expanded to wire-wrapping, & now includes metalsmithing. In just a few short years, I have a home-based WA registered jewelry business, 2 online stores (Classic Beadwear & Seattle Chic), 4 area boutiques buying my jewelry, thousands of dollars in inventory, & a loyal following of customers & friends who order directly or at craft shows. I still love working with all 3 creative techniques equally-- beading, wire-wrapping, & metalsmithing-- which is rather unusual for a jewelry artist. This enables my customers to shop a large variety of styles & materials. Whether the designs are chic, elegant, whimsical, or funny, they are all imaginative Cheryl Z originals, handmade, & one-of-a-kind.
